Bee Gone: An Undertaking

Entry for Winnipeg Game Jam 2024 where the theme was "The Bees".

You're a bee whose current role is that of "undertaker".

Find and pick up bees that have perished so they can be put to rest away from the hive. Try to avoid disturbing bees that are just napping though!

You can drop a bee anywhere outside the hive for "some" respect points. Carefully place  a bee at a meaningful location for a big bonus to the amount of respect your fellow bees have for you.

The goal of the game is to get the hive as clean as possible in the time limit while gaining as much respect as possible.

NOTE

This is a rough, unfinished prototype made for a game jam and unfortunately a lot of content I had planned didn't make it into the game in time. 

- The respect and hive cleanliness mechanic isn't functional yet.
- There's only one "meaningful location" for gone bees to be dropped at (frog lawn ornament) and dialogue isn't triggered yet for when a bee is left here.
- There's no game end screen or ranking when time is up.

But feel free to fly around, chat up napping bees, pick up and drop "gone" bees, and take in the sights :)

All the input prompts are for Playstation controllers, I didn't have time to detect input family and swap out icons (sorry). Please refer to the controls section below.

* Gamepad Recommended *

A gamepad is highly recommended. Mouse & keyboard should work but the layout isn't great and I haven't been able to test with an actual mouse vs just a trackpad.

* Note that some gamepads won't work with the WebGL version of the game. PS4 (DualShock 4) and Xbox controllers should work fine in most browsers though.
